For an affiliate to make money they need to learn how to be successful. This includes not only learning effective web site design, search engine optimization (SEO), and how to use online promotional tools, but it also takes understanding online marketing fundamentals.

The number one job for any website or landing page is to create credibility and trust. Without some level of trust visitors will not be open to your recommendations and won't be in a buying mood. Affiliates must begin by creating credibility for themselves. After that they need to use that credibility to create credibility for their merchants. That's the key to high conversions and maximum sales. We call that marketing technique preselling. It's THE critical technique to be successful.

It's Your Job To Learn

We originally titled this section "Affiliate Teaching" but realized it's really up to affiliates to learn how to succeed. The persistence required is not something we or anyone can "teach." It's up to affiliates to decide to succeed.

Learning how to presell, effective Pay Per Click techniques, and site building activities, like building an inbound links program and marketing through niche forums, all take time and effort. It's not always magical or easy. It can be just plain hard work.

However that work can pay off. It takes time and dedication and planting your seeds in fertile merchant soil but the hard work can mean a nice part-time or even full-time pay check.

The successful affiliates have invested considerable time in learning the skills they need. They've earned their success by trying and testing until they've found what works. What works for one niche doesn't always work in others. Testing and trying and building your own success formula is what finally succeeds.

We don't have all the answers and we can't teach you how to work hard. The old saying is true. "You can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink." But we do know some great resources where affiliates can go to learn what it takes to succeed. The learning and doing is up to you.
